Ph.D. in Information Engineering - Computer Engineering at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova.

My research focuses on the development of novel and efficient Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery Algorithms with rigorous theoretical guarantees on their quality, leveraging on Statistical Learning Theory and Sampling Techniques. My research is often motivated by Molecular Biology Applications.

News

Mar 2023. I got a new position as Adjunct Professor of Introduction to Machine Learning at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova! I can't wait to interact with brilliant student!

Mar 2023. I successfully concluded my Ph.D. program with a thesis entitled "Rigorous and Efficient Algorithms for Mining Sequential Data, and Applications to Bioinformatics"! Amazing journey and experience!

May 2022. The journal version of "SPRISS: Approximating Frequent k-mers by Sampling Reads, and Applications" has been accepted to Bioinformatics!

Jan 2022. Our paper "ONBRA: Rigorous Estimation of the Temporal Betweenness Centrality in Temporal Networks", done in collaboration with Ilie Sarpe, has been accepted to The Web Conference 2022! I can't wait to join the conference and TheWebConf's community!

Aug 2021. I presented "SPRISS: Approximating Frequent k-mers by Sampling Reads, and Applications" (both as full paper and poster) at the 25th international conference on Research in Computational Molecular Biology (RECOMB 2021)! You can find my presentation here.

Dec 2020. Our paper "SPRISS: Approximating Frequent k-mers by Sampling Reads, and Applications", done in collaboration with Leonardo Pellegrina and Fabio Vandin, has been accepted to RECOMB 2021! I can't wait to join the conference!

Aug 2020. I got the Fondazione Luciano Iglesias scholarship, which is given to the 10 best M.Sc. graduates in Computer Engineering at the University of Padova in 2019!

May 2020. Our paper "Mining Sequential Patterns with VC-Dimension and Rademacher Complexity", done in collaboration with Andrea Tonon and Fabio Vandin, has been published in the special issue Big Data Algorithmics of Algorithms!

July 2019. I got a 3-years Ph.D. fellowship in Information Engineering at the Department of Information Engineering of the University of Padova. My supervisor will be Prof. Fabio Vandin. I can't wait to join the VandinLab and start with my research!
